Yanga Princess has successfully clinched the title of the Samia Women Super Cup, which concluded today, March 6, 2025, at the Aga Khan Stadium in Ngaramtoni, Arusha.
Yanga was crowned champions after defeating JKT Queens 3-0 in the final match played at the same venue.
In the first 45 minutes of the match, both teams went into the break with a 0-0 draw, as neither managed to score.
After the break, both teams returned to the field with strategies aimed at securing the prestigious trophy. In the 50th minute, Yanga Princess took the lead with a goal from Aragash Tadesse.
Then, in the 78th minute, Jeannine Mukandayisenga added a third goal, sealing their victory and confirming Yanga as the new champions.
The match finished 3-0 after the second 45 minutes, with Yanga Princess dominating the game against JKT Queens.
Simba Queens claimed third place after defeating Fountain Gate Princess 2-1 in the third-place play-off.
Speaking to journalists, Neema Msitha, Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council (BMT), announced that a women’s conference will be held tomorrow at the Arusha Regional Commissioner’s office.
The conference will involve various stakeholders and will feature discussions on topics offering opportunities for women in sports, as well as testimonials from those who have participated in sports and shared its benefits.
