The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) will celebrate its 30th anniversary from March 18 to 21 in Dar es Salaam, with Prime Minister Dr. Kassim Majaliwa leading the event.

Speaking at a press conference today, March 5, Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Adolf Mkenda, said the celebrations align with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s directive to expand VETA colleges across the country.

“The President has instructed that every region should have a regional-level VETA college, and every district should have a district-level VETA college,” said Prof. Mkenda.

He added that the government is finalizing the construction of a VETA college in Songwe, which previously had none, and is building 64 district-level colleges in areas that lacked them.

Alongside VETA’s 30th anniversary, the event will also mark 50 years of vocational education and training in Tanzania.
