TEMESA launches new system to improve service delivery

The Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical and Service Agency (TEMESA) held a training session on the new Maintenance Management System (MUM) for stakeholders and representatives from various workshops across the country.

The training took place on March 15, 2025, at TEMESA’s offices in Dodoma, aiming to improve the agency’s service delivery.

The goal of the training was to help stakeholders understand how to use the MUM system to make communication easier between TEMESA and different institutions, addressing delays in services that occurred before.

After the training, TEMESA's Dodoma Region Manager, Engineer Greyson Maleko, said that the government has made these changes to improve TEMESA’s operations.

"We need to have a database of all government vehicles and their maintenance information. Before, these records were kept in files, which caused delays in providing timely services," Maleko explained.

"More than seventy institutions have attended this training, and the aim is to make communication between TEMESA and other institutions easier. This will help us manage the maintenance of vehicles, generators, electrical systems, and air conditioners in government buildings more efficiently," he added.

Maleko also said that the training would help solve the issue of service delays and improve efficiency.

Engineer Pongeza Semakuwa, the MUM System Coordinator and TEMESA’s Electrical Division Manager, pointed out that the training is important for understanding how the system works and how it can improve efficiency.

He also mentioned that the system would reduce the time needed to provide services, and TEMESA is ready to receive feedback from stakeholders to make the system even better.

Hakim Joseph, a Senior Transport Officer from the Ministry of Health and one of the training participants, praised the government of Tanzania, led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for introducing this system. He said it would make service delivery easier and faster.
