The number of tourists from Belgium visiting Tanzania has grown significantly, reaching 17,825 in 2023, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Belgium,  Jestas Nyamanga, has said.

Speaking at the "My Tanzania Roadshow, Europe 2025" event, where Belgian and Tanzanian tour operators met, Ambassador Nyamanga noted that tourist numbers have been rising, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, only 5,374 tourists from Belgium visited Tanzania, but strong marketing efforts by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and the Tanzanian Embassy in Belgium have helped increase the numbers.

"Belgium is among the top 15 countries sending tourists to Tanzania," said Ambassador Nyamanga. "The Embassy will continue working with European tour operators to promote Tanzania’s attractions."

He also encouraged tour operators to look beyond tourism and explore investment opportunities in other economic sectors in Tanzania.

He assured them that under the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the government is making it easier to invest and do business in the country.

Ambassador Nyamanga praised Kili Fair for organizing the roadshow in partnership with the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA).
