The Acting Secretary-General of the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government, Engineer Rogatus Mativila, urged members of the staff council of the President’s Office - TAMISEMI to work diligently in order to align with the government's pace.
Speaking on March 4, 2025, during the opening of the staff council meeting in Dodoma, Mativila said, “I encourage all employees of the President’s Office - TAMISEMI to put in their best efforts and work tirelessly so that we can keep up with the government’s development agenda.
This council is an important opportunity for us to discuss key issues that affect both productivity and the welfare of employees.”
The meeting, which brought together staff council members, aimed to provide a platform for employees to discuss various topics related to enhancing efficiency and addressing concerns related to their welfare.
“The Staff Council enhances employee participation in the management of institutional activities, as defined in the Public Service Negotiation Act, Chapter 105," Mativila explained.
He further emphasized the importance of using the council as a platform for discussing both institutional goals and employee welfare.
“The staff council should be a place where we can discuss the institution’s goals, the plans in place to achieve them, and, equally important, the welfare of the employees.
We must ensure that productivity and welfare are balanced to achieve results that ultimately benefit the citizens through better service delivery.”
Mativila also highlighted the need for staff councils to focus on improving daily operations and work performance.
"Productivity and welfare must go hand in hand to produce excellent results. It is essential that we continue to work towards providing better services to the people we serve.”
He added that the council should also foster cooperation, understanding, and unity between employees and leadership.
“The council’s role is not only to improve work efficiency but also to ensure a strong sense of unity, cooperation, and discipline within the institution. This will create a conducive environment for productive work.”
Ms. Emma Lyimo, the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the President’s Office - TAMISEMI, explained that the meeting would allow employees to raise concerns and receive immediate clarification from department and division heads.
“This is an excellent opportunity for employees to ask questions and address any challenges they face in their work.
I encourage all heads of departments and divisions to fully participate in these discussions.”
Lyimo continued, “The staff council meetings are crucial as they allow employees to gain valuable insights and solutions to their issues in real-time. This fosters a sense of inclusion and engagement.”
The two-day meeting for staff at the President’s Office - TAMISEMI and its institutions will also provide training on various topics aimed at enhancing the employees’ work performance and personal growth.
