European football fans were treated to thrilling UEFA Champions League action on March 5, 2025, as top teams battled for supremacy in the knockout stage.

The night featured four exciting encounters, with Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Liverpool all securing crucial victories.

In the Netherlands, Inter Milan displayed their dominance by defeating Feyenoord 2-0. The Italian giants controlled much of the game, with Lautaro Martínez breaking the deadlock in the first half.

Despite Feyenoord’s efforts to respond, Inter’s organized defense left them frustrated. A late strike from Nicolo Barella sealed the victory, putting Inter in a commanding position for the return leg.

The win underscored the team’s tactical discipline and experience on the European stage.

Meanwhile, in Germany, Bayern Munich showcased their attacking prowess with a commanding 3-0 victory over domestic rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

The match, played at the Allianz Arena, saw Bayern impose their authority from the outset. Harry Kane opened the scoring with a well-timed header in the 20th minute.

Leverkusen struggled to contain Bayern’s relentless attacks, and Jamal Musiala doubled the lead shortly before halftime with a stunning long-range effort.

The final goal came from Leroy Sané in the second half, ensuring a comprehensive victory for Bayern. With this dominant performance, Bayern Munich made a strong statement about their title ambitions.

Barcelona continued their resurgence in European competition with a narrow 1-0 win over Benfica in Portugal. The match was a tightly contested affair, with both sides creating scoring opportunities.

Benfica’s defense remained resilient for most of the game, but their resistance was eventually broken by Barcelona’s attacking star Robert Lewandowski, who found the net in the 76th minute.

The goal was enough to hand Barcelona a valuable away victory, boosting their confidence for the second leg at Camp Nou.

In the night’s final encounter, Paris Saint-Germain faced a disappointing 0-1 home defeat against Liverpool.

The clash at the Parc des Princes was highly anticipated, featuring two teams known for their attacking football.

However, it was Liverpool who emerged victorious thanks to a clinical finish from Mohamed Salah in the second half.

PSG struggled to break down Liverpool’s disciplined defensive setup, and despite several attacking moves led by Kylian Mbappé, they failed to find an equalizer.

The result leaves PSG with a difficult task in the return leg at Anfield, where Liverpool will look to complete the job and advance to the next round.

The results from these fixtures have set up intriguing second-leg encounters. Inter Milan and Bayern Munich will feel confident after their convincing victories, while Barcelona and Liverpool will aim to capitalize on their narrow first-leg advantages.

As the Champions League drama continues, fans can expect more thrilling action as Europe’s elite clubs battle for a place in the quarterfinals.
