Fourteen Tanzanian swimmers are set to compete in the African Youth Championship, scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 3 in Egypt.
Speaking today, the Communications and Media Coordinator of the Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA), Sebastian Kolowa, confirmed the final squad, which consists of seven male and seven female swimmers.
The male swimmers include Romeo-Mihaly Mwaipasi, Aryan Bhatt, Mark Tibazarwa, Austin Okore, Christian Fernandes, Enrico Baretto, and Sahal Haarunani.
On the women's side, Tanzania will be represented by Filbertha Demello, Lina Goyayi, Bridget Heep, Natalia Ladha, Amylia Chali, Aliyana Kachra, and Aminaz Kachra.
"As an association, we have officially announced the squad that will represent the country at this prestigious event.
The athletes are continuing with their training at their respective clubs in preparation for the championship," said Kolowa.
He added that preparations are progressing well to ensure the team is fully ready to compete at the highest level.
Kolowa further revealed that the team is set to depart for Egypt on April 28 and will return on May 4. He called on the public to support and encourage the swimmers as they prepare for the competition.
