5,506 farms surveyed in eight Wards of Hanang'

A total of 5,506 farms have been surveyed across eight wards in Hanang's District Council, Manyara Region.

Additionally, 11,440 plots have been surveyed in the wards of Ganana, Endasiwold, Nangwa, Bassotu, Dumbeta, Katesh, and Balangdalalu.

Deputy Minister for Lands, Housing, and Human Settlements Development, Geophrey Pinda, made this announcement in Parliament on February 7, 2025, in Dodoma. 

Speaking on behalf of his minister, Deogratius Ndejembi, he was responding to a question from Hon. Asia Abdukarim Halamga, a Special Seats MP, who sought clarification on when residents who had paid for land surveys in Hanang' would receive their ownership certificates.

In his response, Deputy Minister Pinda stated that the surveyed farms are located in the wards of Gitting, Masakta, Ishponga, Dirma, Gehandu, Balangdalalu, and Mogitu.

He further explained that following the completion of the surveying process, residents have been provided with land ownership documents. 

So far, 1,360 Customary Right of Occupancy certificates have been issued, including 150 for Gitting, 210 for Masakta, and 1,000 for Ishponga.

"Once the surveying process was completed, residents received their land ownership documents. A total of 1,360 Customary Right of Occupancy certificates have been issued, with 150 allocated to Gitting, 210 to Masakta, and 1,000 to Ishponga," he stated.

Additionally, the government has issued 1,505 Title Deeds, including 355 for Gitting, 205 for Masakta, and 950 for Ishponga. 

The process of issuing additional Title Deeds and Customary Right of Occupancy certificates is ongoing, pending residents' fulfillment of land ownership requirements.

Pinda reassured Parliament that the government is actively addressing challenges and complaints related to land ownership to ensure that all procedures comply with existing laws, regulations, and guidelines, ultimately serving communities more efficiently.
