Tanzania’s professional boxers are brimming with confidence as they gear up for the highly anticipated End-of-Year Boxing Day Match, which will take place on December 26, 2024, at Zimbihile Stadium in the Kagera Region.

Speaking yesterday at a press conference in Dar es Salaam during the launch of the event, the fighters did not hold back in issuing warnings to their opponents.

Renowned boxer Abdallah Pazi, popularly known as “Dulla Mbabe,” has promised to deliver a spectacular performance against his rival Mada Maugo. Brimming with confidence, Dulla declared, “I want to tell my opponent Maugo to brace himself because I’m going to knock him out. Promoters better have an ambulance on standby.” He assured fans that they were in for a thrilling show as he showcased his skills and mastery of the sport.

Karimu Mandonga also turned up the heat, boldly predicting that his opponent Saidi Mbelwa wouldn’t last two rounds. “I’m heading to Kagera with my new punch, ‘Kiberenge.’ It’s going to land squarely, and the defeat is certain,” Mandonga proclaimed. He remained unapologetic, affirming that his opponent should be ready for a blow he won’t forget.

Mbelwa, however, sees this fight as a chance for revenge after losing to Mandonga in their previous encounter. “Mandonga, you beat me by sheer luck last time, but this is my moment. When you beat me, my wife left me. This time, I’m fighting to win her back, and you’re going down,” Mbelwa vowed, determined to make a statement.

The event’s coordinator, Bakari Hatibu, emphasized that this fifth installment of the Boxing Day Match series will uphold the highest standards of professionalism and entertainment. Fans can expect electrifying bouts featuring seasoned fighters and rising stars.

Other matches include Anuary Mlawa versus Amiry Matumla, Ayoub Mwankina against Congolese fighter Reagan Pacho, Jamal Kunoga facing Kharidi Karama, and Osama Alabi squaring off with Adam Peter.

In another much-anticipated fight, Chidi Benga from Songea will take on Badiru Komugemu. For the women’s division, Hidaya Zahoro of Morogoro will battle it against Happy Daudi in what promises to be a thrilling contest.

The End of Year Boxing Day Match promises excitement, drama, and high-level boxing artistry, making it an unmissable event for sports fans nationwide.
