Simba Sports Club has received TZS 10 million as a reward for their "mother goal" after defeating CS Sfaxien 2-1 in an African Confederation Cup match held today at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The funds are part of President Samia Suluhu Hassan's incentive program to motivate players for exceptional performances in international competitions.

President Samia, the Head of State of the United Republic of Tanzania, extended her congratulations to Simba SC for their victory in the African Confederation Cup match.

She acknowledged the team's efforts in bringing joy and entertainment to Tanzanians by representing the country's flag admirably on the international stage.

"Alongside your achievements, continue fostering unity, peace, harmony, and teamwork," she stated, adding, "I wish you all the best in your upcoming matches."

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Gerson Msigwa, also lauded Simba for their outstanding victory at home.

He noted that the match was tough, but the team fought hard and managed to secure a positive result.

"The funds will be handed over by the Attorney General, Hamza Johari. Additionally, the President conveyed her happiness through him, expressing how today's victory has lifted her spirits after the previous losses that had deeply disappointed her," he said.
