Zanzibar’s Western Region Volleyball team seeks sponsorship for Taifa cup

By Flora Mkoloma

The Western Region volleyball team is seeking financial support to help them participate in the upcoming Taifa Cup, which will be held in Dodoma from December 2 to 9 this year.

The team is currently facing challenges with securing the necessary sponsorship to cover travel and participation expenses.

In an interview with The Responded Online, Ameir Msimu, the Technical Chairman of the Zanzibar Volleyball Association (ZAVA), expressed the urgency of obtaining sponsorship.

He emphasized that the team requires significant support to ensure their full participation in the competition.

"We are still working hard to secure sponsorship. If we succeed, we will be ready to send the team. At the moment, only one region is facing challenges with funding," Msimu stated.

The team has already begun preparations for the tournament, but financial constraints remain a major hurdle.

Despite their readiness and determination to compete, the lack of adequate funding is preventing them from finalizing travel arrangements and other logistical aspects.

Msimu highlighted the difficulties the team is encountering, noting that they are still struggling to find the resources needed to support the players and ensure their participation in the event.

The Taifa Cup will feature teams from various regions across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, making it an important event for the country's volleyball community.

The Western Region volleyball team hopes that with sufficient backing, they will be able to join the competition and represent their region proudly.
