The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, has called on Mzumbe University graduates to harness their education and drive the transformation of Tanzania’s job market by embracing global trends in entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Speaking at the Annual Meeting of the Mzumbe University Alumni Council held at the university's main campus in Morogoro on November 23, 2024, Nchimbi underscored the importance of higher education institutions aligning their programs with the fast-paced global landscape.

During the meeting, themed "Empowering Students to Revolutionize the Job Market and Inspire New Opportunities," Nchimbi reminded graduates that they hold the potential to become key players in solving the challenges facing the country’s economy. He stressed the need for them to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and the green economy, as tools for innovation and sustainable development. According to Nchimbi, these areas are not just global trends but are central to solving local challenges and creating both self-employment and formal job opportunities.

Nchimbi also highlighted that the government, under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, is implementing strong strategies to create job opportunities, particularly targeting youth, a critical pillar in Tanzania’s development. He emphasized the significance of a forward-thinking mindset, urging graduates to adopt a global perspective while focusing on the national interest.

The CCM Secretary-General also drew attention to the role of the entrepreneurial sector in opening new industries and businesses, creating a more dynamic job market. He encouraged graduates to be proactive in exploring how they can use their skills to improve the country’s economic landscape, ensuring that innovation is at the heart of their efforts.

Gender equality was another key issue raised by Nchimbi. He stressed that the government is committed to providing equal opportunities for both men and women and called on graduates of all genders to unite in driving the country’s development forward. In closing, Nchimbi urged Mzumbe graduates to stay connected, learn from one another, and foster collaboration through social networks to continue developing new solutions to Tanzania’s social and economic challenges.
