Dr.
Doto Biteko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, urged Tanzanians to
recognize the journey that has brought the nation to its current state of peace
and development. Speaking at a local government campaign rally in Lulembela
Ward, Mbogwe District, on November 22, 2024, Dr. Biteko called on citizens to
elect leaders who not only understand the problems but also have solutions.
“We
need leaders who can solve the real challenges people face, leaders who are
rooted in the needs of the community,” Dr. Biteko stated, emphasizing the
importance of choosing a party with realistic, actionable plans. He urged
voters to ignore parties that offer nothing but empty promises and rhetoric. He
also stressed that the November 27 election must be a fair one, with all
registered voters participating. “We don’t want a victory handed to us, but a
fair and legitimate one,” he said.
Dr.
Biteko appealed to Mbogwe residents to support CCM candidates at all levels,
from villages to national offices, ensuring a decisive win for the party.
CCM’s
Geita Region Chairman, Nicholaus Kasendamila, expressed gratitude for the
overwhelming support, noting that 84% of CCM candidates had been elected
unopposed. In Mbogwe District alone, 301 out of 335 candidates had no
opposition, including 70 out of 87 village-level candidates.
Mbogwe’s
Member of Parliament, Nicodemas Maganga, congratulated the CCM candidates but
reminded them to maintain ethical standards and avoid corruption. He noted the
district’s development, which he credited to collaboration across the political
spectrum, urging the new leaders to continue working inclusively.
Maganga
also took the opportunity to praise Dr. Biteko for his contributions to the
region's development, asking him to pass on the message to President Samia
Suluhu Hassan that Mbogwe stands firmly behind the government’s efforts.
