Tanzania's Minister of Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba, conducted an official visit to inspect the ongoing construction of the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) Mwanza campus. The new campus, being built by the government through the Ministry of Finance, comes for Sh 7.8 billion and will have the capacity to accommodate over 5,000 students at once. Dr. Nchemba reaffirmed the government's commitment, under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, to investing in key development sectors, including education.

During the visit, TIA’s Principal, Professor William Pallangyo, outlined the substantial financial support the institute has received over the past three years from the Ministry of Finance. He revealed that the government had allocated a total of TSh 58.1 billion to support various infrastructure development projects across the institute's eight campuses. The funds were distributed as follows: Mtwara (TSh 6.1 billion), Mbeya (Sh 3.2 billion), Mwanza (Sh 7.8 billion), Kigoma (Sh 11 billion), and Zanzibar (Sh 30 billion).

Dr. Nchemba's inspection is part of his seven-day working tour of Mwanza Region, where he will oversee and inaugurate several development projects currently underway. The Minister is expected to lay foundation stones, tour ongoing construction works, and officially launch completed projects across the region.

This initiative reflects the Tanzanian government's ongoing efforts to enhance access to quality education through significant infrastructure investments aimed at expanding learning opportunities and improving academic standards across the country.
