The Tanzania Professional Boxing Regulatory Commission (TPBRC) will hold its leadership elections on November 24, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, with eligible candidates invited to contest various positions as part of efforts to strengthen the governance and development of professional boxing in the country.

The National Sports Council (NSC) Acting Head of Communications and Public Relations, Hannah Kassimoto, said the election process is already underway, urging qualified individuals to collect nomination forms and participate in the electoral process.

Kassimoto said the collection and submission of nomination forms began on November 2 and will close on November 17, while the registration of candidates is scheduled for November 20, 2026.

She emphasised that applicants must meet the established leadership requirements, calling on eligible stakeholders to seize the opportunity to contribute to the growth and effective administration of professional boxing in Tanzania.

"Those seeking leadership positions must meet the required qualifications. I encourage eligible individuals to take advantage of this opportunity and contribute to the development of boxing for the benefit of the nation and individuals," she said.

The positions to be contested include President and Vice-President, with nomination forms for each position costing TZS 1 million.

Other positions include representatives of the Central, Eastern, Southern Highlands, Northern, Lake and Western zones. Nomination forms for these positions are priced at TZS 200,000 each.

The forthcoming elections are expected to give boxing stakeholders an opportunity to shape the commission's leadership and contribute to stronger governance, accountability and the continued development of professional boxing in Tanzania.
