Simba sink Yanga in dramatic 2-1 Kariakoo Derby comeback

Simba SC staged a remarkable second-half comeback to defeat arch-rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC) 2-1 in a thrilling Kariakoo Derby in the NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam on October 10, 2026.

The victory earned Simba three crucial points after overturning an early deficit in a fiercely contested encounter that once again showcased the passion and intensity surrounding Tanzania’s biggest football rivalry.

Yanga made a flying start, taking the lead just five minutes into the match through striker Peter Shalulile, who put Simba on the back foot with an early breakthrough.

The Jangwani-based side carried their 1-0 advantage into half-time, leaving Simba with work to do in the second half. The opening goal triggered intense emotions among supporters, with several Simba fans reportedly fainting at the stadium.
