ACT Wazalendo National Youth Wing Deputy Chairperson Nassor Aheme Marhoum has urged young people in Mkoani District, Pemba, to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and sustain efforts to secure greater self-determination for Zanzibar.
Mr Marhoum made the call while addressing delegates to the ACT Wazalendo National Youth Wing General Meeting at the party’s Mtambile constituency office in Mkoani.
He said young people had a critical role to play in advancing the party’s agenda, defending citizens’ rights and driving political and social change in Zanzibar.
Mr Marhoum urged the youth to participate actively in party activities, stressing the importance of unity, commitment and adherence to the party’s leadership and direction.
He said young people in Mkoani had the same rights and responsibilities as their counterparts in other areas, adding that their involvement was essential to strengthening the party and advancing its objectives.
He also cautioned the youth against losing hope when faced with challenges, saying perseverance, courage and adherence to the party’s principles were key to sustaining their political activities.
Mr Marhoum urged them to remain optimistic and committed to building the party, saying their efforts today could help lay the foundation for the political changes they hoped to achieve in Zanzibar.
The meeting is part of the party’s constitutional processes aimed at strengthening its structures, expanding youth participation and developing strategies to boost grassroots mobilisation and party-building activities.
