DAR ES SALAAM. Letshego Faidika Bank Tanzania Limited has launched a 12-week campaign to encourage Tanzanians to save more, offering cash prizes, motorcycles and a cargo tuk-tuk to customers who increase their deposits.

The campaign, dubbed “Save. Let us grow with you!”, will run until December 27, 2026, across the bank’s five operating zones — Southern, Northern, Central, Lake and Western.

The initiative seeks to promote a stronger savings culture while encouraging more people, including entrepreneurs, to join the formal financial system and make greater use of banking services.

Speaking at the launch, Letshego Faidika Bank Managing Director Baraka Munisi said the campaign was designed to make saving more accessible while giving customers additional incentives to build their financial security.

“Our aim is to encourage Tanzanians to save, open new accounts and make greater use of formal financial services,” Mr Munisi said.

The bank will use branded campaign vehicles to reach customers in their communities, allowing them to open accounts, receive bank cards and activate them on the spot.

Customers saving through LetsGo accounts will compete in three categories based on the amount deposited.

Customers depositing up to TZS50,000 will compete for a weekly prize of TZS50,000, while those depositing between TZS50,000 and TZS500,000 will compete for TZS100,000 each week.

Customers depositing more than TZS500,000 will compete for a weekly prize of TZS200,000.

The bank has set aside more than TZS50 million for the weekly cash prizes.

In addition to the weekly rewards, the customer with the highest deposit each month will win a new motorcycle, while the customer who deposits the largest amount during the entire 12-week campaign will receive a cargo tuk-tuk as the grand prize.

Mr Munisi said the campaign was also aimed at expanding access to banking services by bringing deposit channels closer to customers.

Customers can deposit money into their LetsGo accounts through Letshego Faidika Bank branches and outlets, authorised agents and mobile money platforms, including M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Tigo Pesa and HaloPesa.

He added that, for the first time, customers could also make deposits through CRDB agents and TCB branches, with the money transferred directly into their Letshego Faidika Bank accounts at no additional cost.

Letshego Faidika Bank Head of Business Eddie Mhina said the campaign was also targeting entrepreneurs, particularly those seeking to develop a consistent savings culture while growing their businesses.

He said regular saving could help entrepreneurs strengthen their financial management and build a stronger foundation for business growth.
