Fifty academically gifted but financially disadvantaged Form Six graduates stand to benefit from a TZS1 billion scholarship programme aimed at helping them pursue higher education in Tanzania.
The NMB Foundation is calling on qualified 2026 Form Six graduates to apply for the Nuru Yangu Scholarship and Mentorship Programme, with applications closing on September 18.
The programme targets students who scored Division One with three to five points, come from low-income families and have secured admission to higher learning institutions in the country.
Each beneficiary will receive financial support covering tuition and other college fees, living expenses, practical training costs and a laptop.
The programme will also provide beneficiaries with mentorship and career guidance to help them prepare for the transition from higher education into the job market.
The foundation has particularly urged parents, guardians, teachers and community leaders to help spread information about the scholarship to eligible students, especially those in rural areas who may have limited access to information about higher education opportunities.
Applications are being submitted through the NMB Foundation website, foundation.nmbbank.co.tz, until September 18, 2026.
The initiative comes as the cost of higher education remains a major challenge for students from low-income households, making scholarships an important avenue for academically capable young people to continue their studies.
