The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) is stepping up the digitisation of its services as part of efforts to improve the tourist experience, enhance operational efficiency and strengthen government revenue collection.
The authority said the use of modern information and communication technology would reduce delays faced by tourists and tourism operators while entering and leaving the conservation area and improve the management and security of its resources.
NCAA Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner for Tourism Services and Marketing, Mariam Kobelo, said the digital transformation was aimed at making services faster and more efficient while ensuring that government revenues were collected in full.
She said the initiative would also strengthen security within the conservation area and improve the protection of wildlife and other natural resources.
“Over the past two days, we have experienced a few minor challenges at the main Ladoure Gate, but we are continuing to address them in close cooperation with our stakeholders,” Ms Kobelo said.
She thanked tour guides and other tourism stakeholders for their cooperation as the authority works to improve the new system.
Ms Kobelo urged tourists and other visitors experiencing operational challenges during the transition to seek assistance from NCAA officials stationed at the gate and other service points.
She said the officials were ready to assist affected visitors so they could proceed with their journeys without significant disruption.
The move is part of NCAA's broader efforts to modernise its operations and improve the quality of services offered to tourists in line with international standards.
The authority also plans to strengthen its customer service and hospitality desks to ensure visitors receive timely assistance and a more seamless experience throughout their stay in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
