Mr. Ndejembi to Represent Samia at IAEA Forum in Vienna

By Respondents Reporter

Vice President Deogratius Ndejembi will represent President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Scientific Forum in Vienna, Austria, as Tanzania joins global discussions on the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology.

The two-day forum will be held on September 15 and 16, 2026, alongside the 70th IAEA General Conference.

Mr Ndejembi arrived in Vienna on Monday, September 14, and chaired a preparatory meeting with Tanzanian leaders and experts who will participate in the forum.

His participation comes as countries gather to share scientific knowledge and experiences on the use of nuclear technology for development.

The IAEA Scientific Forum brings together policymakers, scientists, technical experts and other stakeholders to discuss developments in nuclear science and its peaceful applications.

For Tanzania, the forum provides an opportunity for its delegation to participate in international discussions on nuclear science while engaging with other countries and experts taking part in the event.

The Vice President's representation of President Samia also places Tanzania among countries participating in the wider programme of the IAEA's 70th General Conference.

The General Conference brings together representatives of IAEA member states to deliberate on issues related to the agency's work, including nuclear science and technology, safety and other areas within its mandate.

Mr Ndejembi's preparatory meeting with the Tanzanian delegation ahead of the forum is expected to coordinate the country's participation in the two-day event.
