Officials from the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Division of Kondoa District Council have visited the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Olduvai Gorge in an effort to promote domestic tourism and strengthen workplace relations.
The visit, organised as part of efforts to encourage Tanzanians to explore attractions within the country, also gave the officials an opportunity to learn about Tanzania’s natural, historical and cultural heritage.
According to a statement issued by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) on Monday, September 14, 2026, the visit was also aimed at strengthening teamwork among the officials and boosting their morale in carrying out their duties.
At Olduvai Gorge, the officials learned about human history and ancient fossils found in the area, which is regarded as one of the world's important sites for research into human evolution.
The officials also toured different areas of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where they observed wildlife and other natural attractions.
Among the animals they saw were elephants, lions, rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, jackals, antelopes, ostriches, hippos, warthogs and various species of birds.
The visit was also intended to encourage other public servants and members of the public to visit tourist attractions across Tanzania.
The initiative seeks to promote a culture of domestic tourism while allowing Tanzanians to experience the country’s natural and historical resources.
It also provided an opportunity for the officials to exchange experiences and strengthen relations among themselves.
The NCAA has continued to promote the Ngorongoro Conservation Area as a destination where visitors can experience wildlife, scenic landscapes and sites of historical importance, including Olduvai Gorge.
The visit comes amid broader efforts to increase domestic tourism by encouraging Tanzanians to explore attractions within the country, while supporting local economic activity linked to the tourism sector.
