Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club has been named Africa’s Leading Hotel 2026 at the 33rd Annual World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony, extending its record to five consecutive wins since 2022.
The award was presented on August 28, 2026, at Diamonds Bijoux in Zanzibar, Tanzania, bringing renewed recognition to the Kenyan property as one of the continent’s leading luxury hospitality destinations.
The latest accolade comes as African destinations increasingly compete for international visitors by combining high-end accommodation with nature, wildlife, conservation and authentic cultural experiences.
Located at the foot of Mount Kenya and within the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club offers visitors a combination of luxury accommodation and access to some of Kenya’s distinctive wildlife and conservation initiatives.
Guests can encounter rhinos and learn about efforts to protect the critically endangered mountain bongo, while the surrounding conservancy provides opportunities for walking, cycling and horseback eco-safaris.

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognises excellence across the global travel and tourism industry, with winners selected through a voting process involving travel professionals and consumers.
