ACT Wazalendo Zanzibar has begun preparations for its regional general meetings, with the party’s leadership meeting representatives from seven regions of Unguja to assess its performance and organisational readiness.
The party’s Deputy Secretary-General, Omar Ali Shehe, chaired the meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the ACT Wazalendo headquarters in Vuga, Zanzibar.
The meeting brought together regional chairpersons, secretaries and planning secretaries to review the party’s activities and assess the implementation of its programmes across the seven regions.
The discussions also focused on preparations for the regional general meetings, which are required under the party’s constitution and are scheduled to take place in October and November 2026.
The meetings are expected to provide a platform for party members to assess the performance of their regional structures, review organisational matters and prepare for upcoming party activities.
Mr Shehe was accompanied by ACT Wazalendo Deputy Secretary for Organisation, Training and Elections Khamis Ali Salim and the Secretary of the party’s Elders’ Wing, Janet Fussi.
The latest meeting comes as the party moves to strengthen its organisational structures ahead of the regional meetings, which form part of its constitutional processes.
