ACT Wazalendo Zanzibar Deputy Secretary-General Omar Ali Shehe has started a four-day tour of Pemba as the party seeks to strengthen its grassroots structures and address operational challenges facing its regional and constituency leaders.
Mr Shehe began the tour in Micheweni, where he met the regional leadership committee and leaders from the party’s four constituencies in the district.
The meeting, held at the Tumbe Constituency office, provided an opportunity for local leaders to give an update on party activities and raise challenges affecting their operations.
Mr Shehe said the tour was intended to strengthen the party’s organisation and improve the effectiveness of its structures at regional and constituency levels.
He said the meetings would also enable the party’s senior leadership to directly engage with officials on the ground, understand their challenges and discuss practical ways of addressing them.
The visit comes as ACT Wazalendo continues to await the implementation of agreements reached by leaders of political parties, making the strengthening of its internal structures an important part of its preparations for the next phase of political activities.
After completing his engagements in Micheweni, Mr Shehe is scheduled to visit Wete Region, where he will meet party leaders and members in various areas.
The four-day tour will cover ACT Wazalendo’s party regions in Pemba and is expected to focus on strengthening coordination, internal cohesion and the effectiveness of the party’s grassroots leadership.
