Vodacom Tanzania Plc has reaffirmed its role in advancing Tanzania's digital transformation after using the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) to showcase technology-driven solutions that are expanding connectivity, digital financial services and access to information across the country.

During the 13-day exhibition, held from June 28 to July 13, the telecommunications company demonstrated a range of digital products and services aimed at supporting individuals, businesses and public institutions as Tanzania accelerates its transition to a digital economy.

The company's contribution to the milestone exhibition was recognised at the closing ceremony, where Vodacom received two awards Second Place in Sponsorship and Third Overall Best Exhibitor—in recognition of its support for the fair and the quality of its exhibition.

Vodacom's Head of Marketing and Commercial Enablement, Joseph Sayi, and Dar es Salaam and Coast Regional Manager, Happiness Shuma, received the awards on behalf of the company alongside members of the Vodacom team.

The awards were presented during the official closing ceremony presided over by Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, in the presence of the Minister for Industry and Trade, Judith Kapinga, and Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) Director General, Latifa Khamis.

Throughout the exhibition, Vodacom also engaged visitors through live demonstrations and media interviews, highlighting how its digital services are helping customers communicate, transact, access online services and grow their businesses.

Speaking during a special interview at the fair, Dar es Salaam and Coast Regional Marketing Manager Caleb Majo said the exhibition provided an important platform for the company to interact directly with customers while raising awareness of digital solutions that improve everyday life.

He was joined by Corporate Relations Manager Alex Bitekeye and Regional Manager Happiness Shuma, who underscored Vodacom's continued investment in digital innovation and customer-focused services.

The 50th Sabasaba International Trade Fair brought together thousands of exhibitors from Tanzania and abroad, offering a platform to promote innovation, trade and investment.

For Vodacom, the event reinforced its position as a leading telecommunications provider committed to supporting Tanzania's digital transformation through technology, innovation and inclusive connectivity.
