Tanzania's football heavyweights Simba SC, Young Africans (Yanga) and Azam FC will all begin their 2026/27 NBC Premier League campaigns away from home after the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) unveiled the fixtures for the new season.
The league will kick off on August 14, with defending champions Yanga travelling to face Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi on August 15.
Simba will open their campaign against Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba on August 16, while Azam FC will take on Polisi Tanzania at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
Launching the fixtures, TPLB Chief Executive Officer Cornel Barnabas said the schedule had been released well in advance to give clubs sufficient time to prepare for the season.
He said the early announcement reflects the board's commitment to improving league organisation and ensuring the domestic calendar remains on track as Tanzania prepares to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
"We know Tanzania will host AFCON next year, so we are making sure time is used effectively and the league programme runs according to schedule," Barnabas said.
The opening round will also feature JKT Tanzania hosting TRA United at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam on August 16, while Coastal Union welcome Mashujaa to Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on August 15.
Elsewhere, Mbeya City will host Geita Gold at Sokoine Stadium, Pamba Jiji will entertain Dodoma Jiji at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, and Singida Black Stars will face Fountain Gate at Airtel Stadium in Singida.
The release of the fixtures marks the official countdown to the new top-flight season, with clubs now expected to intensify their preparations ahead of another highly competitive title race.
