DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — KuwaPay, a digital payments platform enabling real-time Chinese yuan settlements to China, has joined the award-winning documentary project Guardians of the Peak (GOP) as an official sponsor for its second season, in a partnership aimed at strengthening links between Tanzania and China through tourism, conservation and financial technology.
The collaboration brings together two organisations pursuing different but complementary objectives. While Guardians of the Peak uses documentary filmmaking to promote environmental conservation, clean energy and sustainable tourism, KuwaPay is developing payment infrastructure designed to simplify cross-border transactions between Tanzania and China.
The sponsorship comes as Guardians of the Peak prepares for its official premiere on Aug. 22, 2026, followed by an international premiere in China. Producers expect the documentary to reach audiences across several countries while supporting cultural exchange and deeper business engagement between the two nations.
As an official sponsor, KuwaPay will feature prominently throughout the documentary campaign, including at premiere events, press conferences, university outreach programmes, environmental activities, digital campaigns and media engagements.
The partnership is expected to give the fintech company exposure to a broad audience that includes investors, business leaders, government officials, tourists, students, filmmakers, conservation partners and members of the Chinese business community operating in Tanzania.
Unlike traditional marketing campaigns, the documentary offers KuwaPay a longer-term platform through future public screenings, educational programmes, international film festivals, digital distribution and continued media coverage.
The collaboration also supports KuwaPay's business objective of facilitating faster and more secure cross-border financial transactions as trade, tourism and investment between Tanzania and China continue to expand.
Under the agreement, KuwaPay will provide payment infrastructure capable of enabling real-time settlement in Chinese currency for transactions linked to the documentary's international activities, helping streamline financial operations as the project develops partnerships beyond Tanzania.
The documentary's producers said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation and sustainable development, demonstrating how collaboration between the creative industry and financial technology can promote environmental conservation while strengthening international economic ties.
With Guardians of the Peak continuing to showcase Mount Kilimanjaro, conservation efforts and Tanzania's tourism potential to global audiences, the partnership is also expected to increase KuwaPay's visibility among Chinese visitors and businesses seeking efficient digital payment solutions for cross-border transactions.
