Simba Sports Club has announced that its annual Simba Day celebration will take place on August 8 at Uhuru Stadium, with the club promising more high-profile signings as it strengthens its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The announcement comes as the Msimbazi giants intensify preparations for the new campaign, which will include participation in the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda and other domestic competitions.
Speaking during a press briefing, Simba spokesperson Ahmed Ally said the club used the occasion to update fans on its transfer plans, pre-season preparations and the official date for Simba Day 2026.
He said Simba has already unveiled three new players but the recruitment exercise remains ongoing, with more arrivals expected to be announced soon.
“We have announced three players because we believe they have the ability to help Simba achieve its ambitions. The signing process is not complete; we are still recruiting and more players will be introduced,” Ally said.
The spokesperson hinted that the club is preparing to unveil a major signing expected to generate excitement among supporters and football followers.
“There is one player we are almost worried about announcing because the football world will change its attitude after seeing him. However, there is no turning back; we will introduce him and let people see Simba’s real asset,” he said.
Ally said the new signings are part of Simba’s broader strategy to build a stronger team capable of competing for major honours both locally and internationally.
Simba Day, which has traditionally served as a platform for unveiling new players, introducing the squad and engaging supporters, will also mark an important milestone as the club continues celebrations linked to its 90th anniversary.
Betway Tanzania Marketing Manager Calvin Mhina said the company was proud to continue its partnership with Simba Day for the second consecutive year as the event’s main sponsor.
He said Betway had prepared various activities and prizes for supporters during Simba Week as part of appreciating their loyalty and contribution to the club.
Meanwhile, N-Card Sales Officer Kelvin Chungu confirmed that ticket sales arrangements had been completed, with VIP tickets priced at Sh100,000 and regular tickets at Sh20,000.
He added that supporters will be able to purchase tickets through mobile payment platforms and QR Code systems using their email addresses or phone numbers, a move aimed at improving convenience and reducing challenges during ticket access.
With the new season approaching, Simba’s management says the combination of new recruits, improved preparations and strong supporter engagement will be key in pursuing success in the 2026/27 campaign.
