Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe, has arrived in Tanzania for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two East African neighbours.
The visit, which runs from July 25 to 27, will see Ambassador Nduhungirehe hold talks with Tanzania's Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, on issues of mutual interest and avenues for enhancing collaboration.
According to Tanzania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, the ministers are expected to discuss the status of bilateral cooperation and explore opportunities to deepen partnerships in key sectors, while also reviewing regional matters of common interest.
Tanzania and Rwanda maintain close diplomatic and economic ties, working together through the East African Community (EAC) and other regional and continental platforms to promote trade, investment, infrastructure development and regional integration.
Ambassador Nduhungirehe was received upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam by the Assistant Director of the Africa Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ms Julieth Muchunguzi, accompanied by Rwanda's Ambassador to Tanzania, Gen Patrick Nyamvumba.
The visit forms part of ongoing high-level engagements between the two countries aimed at reinforcing diplomatic relations and advancing shared development priorities.
