Tanzanians are set to gain insights into business and investment opportunities in the mining sector as the Mining Commission prepares for the Fifth Local Content Implementation Forum (LCCF 2026), scheduled for July 22 to 24 in Mwanza.
The Chairperson of the Mining Commission’s Local Content Committee, Dr Theresia Numbi, will tomorrow appear on Star TV’s Tuongee Asubuhi programme to discuss the forum’s significance and how Tanzanians can benefit from increased participation in the mining value chain.
Dr Numbi, who will be accompanied by the Director of Mineral Audit and Trade, CPA Venance Kasiki, is expected to highlight opportunities available to local businesses, the role of local content policies in promoting value addition and efforts to ensure Tanzanians play a bigger role in the mining economy.
The live interview will be broadcast from 8:00am, ahead of the three-day forum that will be held at Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza.
The forum, organised by the Mining Commission, will bring together mining companies, investors, mineral traders, mining service providers, government institutions and other stakeholders to explore ways of strengthening local participation in the sector.
Discussions at LCCF 2026 will focus on improving access to business opportunities, enhancing skills development, building partnerships and increasing the involvement of Tanzanians in activities ranging from mining services to mineral processing and trade.
Participants are expected to engage through expert presentations, panel discussions, training sessions and exhibitions aimed at creating awareness of the opportunities available under the country’s local content framework.
The Mining Commission said the forum will also provide a platform for stakeholders to build business networks, share experiences and identify strategies to expand local participation across the mining value chain.
The event will be officially opened by Minerals Minister Anthony P. Mavunde and will run from July 22 to 24, starting at 8:00am each day.
