The Tanzania Revenue Authority (Tanzania Revenue Authority) has called on citizens across the country to submit innovative ideas aimed at improving tax services, simplifying systems, and strengthening revenue collection, with the top winner set to receive up to TZS 50 million.

The initiative is part of the Authority’s second season of its innovation programme, which seeks to harness the creativity of Tanzanians in developing practical solutions that can modernize tax administration, improve efficiency, and make services more accessible to taxpayers.

TRA says the programme is designed to encourage participation from citizens, especially young innovators, professionals, and entrepreneurs, to contribute ideas that can help enhance service delivery systems and widen the national tax base.

Participants are required to submit their ideas through the TRA official website under the Innovation section. The deadline for submission is July 31, 2026.

According to TRA, the programme not only aims to reward the best innovations but also to promote inclusive participation.

A total of 1,000 ideas that reach the Evaluation Committee stage will each receive TZS 100,000 as recognition for their contribution.

From these submissions, 20 best ideas will be selected as winners and awarded higher cash prizes. The first-place winner will receive TZS 50 million, while the second and third winners will each receive TZS 30 million.

The fourth and fifth winners will each receive TZS 20 million, while those ranked sixth to twentieth will each receive TZS 10 million.

In total, 1,020 winners are expected to benefit from the programme, which TRA says is part of its efforts to strengthen collaboration with citizens in building modern, technology-driven and efficient tax systems.

The Authority emphasized that the initiative reflects its commitment to improving service delivery, reducing operational challenges, and ensuring a more inclusive and responsive tax system that supports national development.
