President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to be the Guest of Honour at the official closing ceremony of six-month training for Police Officers and Assistant Inspectors, which will be held tomorrow, May 28, 2026, in Dar es Salaam.

A total of 719 trainees are expected to graduate after completing their rigorous training at the Police Academy, marking another key step in strengthening the capacity of the Tanzania Police Force to maintain law and order across the country.

The ceremony will bring together senior government officials, security leaders and other stakeholders in the justice and security sector.

Speaking after inspecting preparations for the event and touring the Police Academy facilities in Dar es Salaam, Minister for Home Affairs Patrobas Katambi said the government has continued to implement major reforms aimed at improving the operations and efficiency of the police force.

He said significant improvements have been made in training systems, infrastructure and overall service delivery within the police force under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Katambi added that the reforms are part of the government’s broader efforts to modernise security institutions, enhance professionalism and ensure that officers are well equipped to serve citizens effectively and uphold the rule of law.

He noted that the graduation of the 719 officers reflects ongoing investment in human resources within the security sector, which is critical in responding to emerging security challenges and maintaining peace in the country.

The six-month training programme focused on discipline, ethics, operational skills and professional conduct, preparing the graduates for their duties within the police force.
