Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi is expected to officiate the 2025 National Sports Council (NSC) Awards ceremony tomorrow in Dar es Salaam, where outstanding athletes and sports stakeholders will be honoured for their achievements at both national and international levels.
The event will be held at The Super Dome in Masaki and is expected to bring together sports leaders, athletes, journalists and fans from across the country in celebration of Tanzania’s sporting excellence.
Organisers said preparations for the high-profile event have been completed, paving the way for a colourful ceremony aimed at recognising and motivating athletes who have continued to raise the country’s flag in various competitions.
This year, the council will present 21 awards, up from 20 categories in 2024, following the introduction of a new award for Veteran Sports Journalist of the Year in recognition of individuals who have made significant contributions to sports reporting and development.
The awards have become one of the country’s key platforms for acknowledging sporting talent and encouraging professionalism in the sector.
Tanzanians have also been urged to continue voting for the People’s Choice Best Player Award through WhatsApp number +255 689 525 363 ahead of the ceremony.
The BMT awards are expected to showcase the growing role of sports in promoting national unity, inspiring young talent and enhancing Tanzania’s profile on the international stage.
