Police in Dar es Salaam are investigating an incident that led to the death of a 50-year-old Chinese national, Bhaozang Ge, who was the owner of XIL LI factory, a plastic bottle processing plant located in Mabibo, Ubungo District.
The incident occurred on May 16, 2026 at around 8:00 p.m. within the factory premises. Reports indicate that the factory owner was attacked while at the site, an incident that later resulted in his death.
Preliminary police information shows that private security guards assigned to guard the factory are among those being investigated in connection with the incident.
Authorities say the exact circumstances that led to the attack are still being established.
The Dar es Salaam Police Force confirmed that a full investigation is underway to determine what happened and identify all individuals involved.
