Community Police Commission Commissioner, Alex Mkama, has instructed police officers, inspectors and community policing officers in Kilombero District, Morogoro Region, to strengthen cooperation with wananchi by listening to their concerns and resolving challenges affecting their daily lives.
Speaking during a meeting with the officers held at the Kilombero District Commissioner’s office conference hall on May 18, 2026, CP Mkama said police officers should spend more time engaging directly with communities instead of remaining in offices.
He emphasized that effective policing depends on close cooperation between law enforcement authorities and citizens, noting that officers must demonstrate professionalism, discipline and accountability while carrying out their duties.
The commissioner further urged officers to pay greater attention to low-income citizens and ensure their complaints are handled fairly and promptly in order to strengthen public confidence in the Police Force.
He also called for improved customer service within police stations and other service points, saying quality service delivery is essential in reducing unnecessary complaints and protecting the reputation of both the Police Force and the government.
CP Mkama commended community policing officers for their continued efforts in maintaining peace and serving residents in different communities, encouraging them to increase their commitment in safeguarding public safety and strengthening relations with citizens.
