Women in Tanzania have been urged to strengthen their spiritual foundation and gain knowledge of the Word of God in order to effectively lead families, build strong communities, and contribute to national transformation.
The call was made in Dodoma by Apostle Prof. Margareth Kilimali, Founder and President of Global Women Ministry Africa (GLOWMA), during the opening of the first women’s conference organized by the ministry.
The conference is being held under the theme: “A Special Calling for Women: Serving Together in Unity, Solidarity, Love, and Peace.”
Prof. Kilimali emphasized that a woman’s ability to lead and influence her family positively is deeply connected to her understanding of God’s Word, noting that spiritual knowledge provides direction, wisdom, and stability in daily life.
She said lack of such knowledge can affect not only individual families but also future generations, stressing the need for women to be rooted in faith-based teachings.
“It is essential for a woman to be rooted in the knowledge of God’s Word so she can guide her children, support her husband, and contribute positively to society. Without this knowledge, it is difficult to fulfill God’s purpose,” she said.
Prof. Kilimali added that the conference aims to spiritually empower women, strengthen unity among them, and equip them with leadership skills both in church and society.
She also highlighted the importance of raising standards of prayer as a tool for transformation in families and the nation.
She expressed appreciation to the leadership in Dodoma and all participants for their support, saying unity and cooperation remain key pillars in advancing the ministry’s mission.
In his remarks, Pastor Felichismus Tarimo of Calvary Assemblies of God, who officiated the opening session, called on women to emulate the biblical character of Abigail, who demonstrated wisdom, courage, and quick action in preventing disaster.
He said women have a significant role in interceding for the nation through prayer, repentance, and righteous living, especially during times of moral and social challenges.
“God is raising a generation of wise and proactive women. Those who recognize what is happening in society and quickly turn to God can bring significant transformation to the nation,” he said.
Pastor Tarimo further stressed the importance of women understanding and applying biblical teachings, noting that spiritual awareness strengthens their ability to support families and communities effectively.
GLOWMA, a women’s ministry operating across Africa, was founded in 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya, and officially registered in Tanzania in 2012.
The organization brings together women servants of God with a mission to reach communities through the Word of God and acts of compassion.
Its vision focuses on empowering women to become “the light of the world,” promoting unity, love, and leadership development, while also offering community-based training across various social groups.
The conference, currently taking place in Chamwino, Dodoma, is expected to conclude on Saturday, with organizers encouraging women from different parts of the country to attend, receive spiritual teachings, and be equipped to drive positive change in their lives, families, and society at large.
