Mexime sets tactical plan to face Yanga SC in crucial League clash

Mbeya City head coach Mecky Mexime has revealed that he is currently finalizing a tactical plan to counter Young Africans SC ahead of their NBC Tanzania Premier League encounter scheduled for April 16 at the KMC Complex.

Mexime said the team’s preparations have been intensified following their early exit from the CRDB Federation Cup, where they suffered a 5-1 defeat against Singida Black Stars in Singida.

He noted that the technical bench has now shifted full focus to the league fixture, emphasizing discipline, compact defending, and quick attacking transitions as the key pillars of their game plan against the league leaders.

According to Mexime, Mbeya City also used their recent cup assignment to manage player workload, resting several key players to ensure they are fully prepared for the demanding clash against Yanga.

“This will not be an easy match because we are facing a strong team that has not lost and is currently at the top of the table. However, we will go into the game with determination to compete and secure a positive result, just as we did when we faced Azam FC and managed to earn a point,” Mexime said.

Mbeya City, who compete in the NBC Tanzania Premier League, are determined to bounce back strongly as they aim to improve their position on the league table in the remaining fixtures of the season.
