Simba warn against underestimating B19 in CRDB Federation Cup

Simba Sports Club have said they will approach their Round of 32 fixture in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup with full seriousness when they face B19 on March 7 at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The Msimbazi Street giants have intensified training as they prepare for the knockout encounter, which comes shortly after their Kariakoo derby against Young Africans Sports Club ended in a goalless draw in Zanzibar.

Simba’s Head of Information and Communication, Ahmed Ally, said the players are in high spirits and fully focused on securing a victory that will see the club advance to the next stage of the competition.

He explained that the squad was granted a short break following the derby before returning to camp to begin preparations for the upcoming cup match.

“The players had a brief rest after the derby before returning to camp to start preparing for the next game. The morale within the team is high and everyone is determined to deliver a strong performance,” he said.

Ally stressed that despite B19 being from a lower division, Simba will not take the match lightly. He said the club respects every opponent as it seeks to achieve its ambition of winning the CRDB Federation Cup this season.

“Our target this season is to win the CRDB Federation Cup, and to achieve that we must treat every opponent with respect and approach each game with maximum focus,” he said.

He also praised Simba supporters for the unity and discipline they displayed during the Kariakoo derby and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit in the club’s upcoming fixtures, including the cup clash against B19.

On the team’s fitness, Ally said no new injuries were recorded in the previous match, although some players who were already sidelined remain unavailable. Among them is goalkeeper Moussa Camara, who is still undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, tickets for the match have already gone on sale, with VIP seats priced at Sh10,000 while regular tickets cost Sh5,000.
