The Ministry of Minerals has taken a significant step to boost staff performance and welfare by training members of its Staff Council on personal data protection and investment opportunities through UTT AMIS (Unit Trust of Tanzania – Asset Management and Investor Services).

Opening the training on March 23, 2025, Director of Administration and Human Resource Management, Festus Mbwilo, said the program is designed to empower council members, who represent their colleagues, with knowledge and skills to uphold government guidelines and best practices.

During the session on data protection, IT Officer Experansia Biseko stressed the importance of safeguarding personal and institutional information.

She explained that proper data management strengthens accountability, trust, and efficiency in public service.

“In today’s digital world, protecting information is not optional it is every employee’s responsibility,” she noted.

On the investment front, Senior Officer Ahmed Salmin from UTT AMIS introduced participants to the company’s products and services.

He highlighted how investment funds can help employees grow their income safely while building financial security for both the short and long term.

Council members praised the training, committing to apply the knowledge gained to improve their work and encourage fellow employees to protect personal data and invest wisely for a better future.

The training is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to equip staff with a comprehensive understanding of administrative, technological, and economic matters that contribute to institutional and national development.

UTT AMIS, a government-owned investment company under the Treasury, manages and provides investment opportunities for citizens and institutions through specialized unit trust funds.
