The Secretary-General of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Asha-Rose Migiro, has held talks with the Secretary-General of FRELIMO of Mozambique, Chakil Felizardo Passadas Aboobacar, to discuss ways of strengthening economic cooperation between the two sister parties.

Mr Aboobacar is on a two-day official working visit to Tanzania.

The meeting took place on March 6, 2026, at the CCM sub-headquarters offices at Lumumba in Dar es Salaam.

During the discussions, the two leaders reaffirmed the long-standing friendship and historic ties between the ruling parties of Tanzania and Mozambique.

The parties agreed to continue strengthening their relationship, particularly by promoting economic cooperation that can contribute to development in both countries.

The talks also focused on the importance of maintaining close collaboration and exchanging experiences in governance, development and regional stability.

CCM and FRELIMO share deep historical relations that date back to the liberation struggles in Southern Africa, and the latest engagement reflects their continued commitment to working together for the benefit of their nations.
