PM Mwigulu meets Water, Finance Ministers to strengthen service delivery

Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba on  January 3, 2026, held a working meeting with the Minister for Water, Jumaa Aweso, and the Minister for Finance, Ambassador Khamis Omar, aimed at ensuring government plans translate into tangible benefits for citizens.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Mlimwa, Dodoma, brought together senior officials and technical experts from the Prime Minister’s Office–Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Water.

At the centre of the discussions was the need to improve coordination between policy, financing, and implementation so that public resources directly support reliable water services and other essential needs at the community level. 

The leaders reviewed progress in ongoing projects and stressed the importance of timely funding, close supervision, and accountability to guarantee value for money for taxpayers.

Prime Minister Nchemba underscored that effective collaboration among ministries is critical to accelerating development projects and improving the quality of services delivered to citizens, particularly in regions and local government authorities.

The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to placing citizens at the heart of development efforts by strengthening planning, budgeting, and implementation systems to ensure sustainable and inclusive service delivery across the country.
