PM Mwigulu engages PMO-RALG leadership on local government priorities

Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba on January 3, 2026, held high-level talks with senior leaders of the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) in Dodoma, underscoring the government’s focus on strengthening the performance of local government authorities.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Mlimwa, brought together Dr. Nchemba and the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO-RALG), Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, for discussions on key administrative, governance and service-delivery issues under PMO-RALG.

Also present at the working session were the Permanent Secretary at PMO-RALG, Adolf Ndunguru, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Sospeter Mtwale, and the Director of the Regional Administration Department, Beatrice Kimoleta.

The talks focused on enhancing coordination between central and local government institutions, improving accountability, and ensuring efficient implementation of government policies and development programmes at regional and council levels.

The meeting reflects the Sixth Phase Government’s continued emphasis on strengthening local government systems as a critical pillar for delivering quality services and accelerating socio-economic development across the country.
