A chain-reaction traffic accident in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, left one person injured and caused significant vehicle damage on the evening of January 20, 2026.
The crash occurred at around 5:20 PM on Bagamoyo Road, Morocco area, when a Subaru Forester, registration T 491EGT, driven by Paschal Emanuel of Goba, Ubungo, collided with the rear of a Toyota Prado, registration T 847 DKR, driven by Salumu Mwalimu, a Kinondoni resident.
The impact caused the Subaru to veer off the road, strike roadside barriers, and crash into three more vehicles in the Car Point company parking area.
Moza Ally, a local resident, sustained injuries in the accident and was treated at the Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) before being discharged.
Authorities have detained the Subaru driver, who faces further legal action.
The police are urging all road users to observe traffic rules and safety regulations to prevent similar accidents.
