Mineral indicative prices for 16,2026

The Mining Commission of Tanzania has released the latest indicative prices for gold and silver, providing guidance for miners, traders, and investors on local mineral valuations.

The prices, effective January 16, 2026, are expressed in TZS per gram, reflecting both international benchmarks and local trading rates.

For gold, the world market price is TZS 367,506.97 per gram. The mineral market price, commonly used for commercial trading within Tanzania, is TZS 330,756.27 per gram, while the buying centre price, which sets the base rate for local and small-scale miners, is TZS 323,406.13 per gram.

Silver prices follow a similar structure. The world market price is TZS 7,251.07 per gram, with the mineral market price at TZS 6,525.96 per gram and the buying centre price at TZS 6,380.94 per gram.

The hierarchy of prices ensures transparency in the mineral sector: world market prices indicate the international value, mineral market prices guide local commercial transactions, and buying centre prices provide small-scale miners with clear baseline rates for selling their minerals.

These prices play a critical role in helping miners and investors make informed decisions about mineral sales, trade negotiations, and planning for revenue generation in Tanzania’s mining sector.
