Samwel Kapungu, popularly known as ‘Batman’, head coach of Tanzania’s national boxing team, the Black Bulls, has declared that his squad is fully prepared to compete at the upcoming Men’s World Boxing Championship in Dubai, set for December 2–13, 2025.
Speaking to The Respondents Online, Kapungu said the team’s preparations are progressing well and are now in the final stages ahead of departure.
“Our athletes are highly motivated and committed. They are ready to fight hard for medals – gold, silver, and bronze. We know the competition will be tough, as some teams are world-class, but we are prepared to give our all with sweat and determination to achieve our goals,” he said.
Kapungu highlighted the team’s strong performance in previous tournaments, noting that Tanzania won 18 medals at the Third Regional Championship for men and women, a result that boosts the squad’s confidence heading into the world stage.
The coach confirmed that the team is scheduled to depart for Dubai on December 1, 2025.
He also urged stakeholders and sponsors to continue supporting boxing, emphasizing that the sport is growing steadily and gaining international recognition.
