Prince Dube’s second-half strike earned Yanga a 1-0 victory over AS FAR Rabat in their opening group-stage match of the CAF Champions League, played today at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.

The win marks a strong start to Yanga’s home campaign, giving the team three valuable points. Dube scored in the 58th minute, breaking the deadlock after a goalless first half in which both sides played cautiously and focused on defense.

Yanga increased their pace in the second half, creating chances and ultimately securing the match-winning goal that held until the final whistle.

In a special moment for fans, striker Clement Mzize showcased his Goal of the Year award, which he received on November 19 in Rabat, Morocco, adding extra celebration to Yanga’s victory.

Yanga’s next match is scheduled for November 28, 2025, away against JS Kabylie from  Algeria, where the team will aim to continue their strong start in the competition.
