The Chairperson of the Tanzania Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) Board, Ambassador Aziz Ponary Mlima, has embarked on a working tour of the Northern Zone to inspect ongoing strategic investment projects in Tanga Region.
The visit aims to review the progress of projects managed under TISEZA, engage with investors, and enhance coordination between the authority and regional as well as district leaders to accelerate economic growth.
During his tour, Ambassador Mlima visited key projects, including Neelkanth Salt Limited, Sayona Drinks Limited, Maweni Limestone Limited, the Tanga Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and the Mkinga SEZ both officially designated for industrial and commercial investment.
He also held talks with Tanga Regional Commissioner Ambassador Dr. Batilda Burian, Tanga District Commissioner Dadi Kolimba, Regional Administrative Secretary Rashid Mchatta, and Regional Trade Officer Peter Lyochi.
Their discussions focused on addressing land challenges, improving project coordination, and unlocking investment opportunities in the region.
Ambassador Mlima said TISEZA remains committed to ensuring that investors receive timely support and that obstacles affecting project execution are resolved swiftly.
“TISEZA will continue working closely with regional and local authorities to create a more enabling business environment and attract quality investments that drive job creation and industrial development,” he said.
His visit underscores the government’s broader effort to strengthen investor confidence and promote regional development through Special Economic Zones across Tanzania.
