SGR services foe Dar and Dodoma resume after disruption

The Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) has informed the public that Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) services between Dar es Salaam and Dodoma have resumed and are running normally.

The corporation apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused and thanked citizens for their patience during the temporary disruption on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Earlier today, TRC issued a statement to the media reporting an incident involving the EMU train traveling from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma around 8:00 a.m.

The disruption occurred at Ruvu Station due to operational faults. TRC confirmed that the incident did not result in any serious consequences.

A team of experts, led by the Parmanent Secretary of Transport, the TRC Director, security personnel, and TRC management, acted swiftly to address the issue and conducted a thorough investigation to ensure services were restored as quickly as possible.

Passengers are now enjoying regular SGR services, and TRC has assured that measures are in place to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
