The first semifinals of the Tanzania Volleyball National League (TVNL) are set to kick off today at Mwembe Yanga Stadium in Dar es Salaam, starting at 1:00 PM.

In this stage, each team will play three matches. Any team that wins two consecutive games will earn a place in the finals, scheduled for September 28 at the same venue.

In the women’s category, Korosho Queens will face Bandari at 1:00 PM, followed by KIUT against Tanzania Prisons at 3:00 PM.

For the men’s category, KIUT will clash with JKT at 5:00 PM, and the day will conclude with Jeshi Stars taking on Tanzania Prisons at 7:00 PM.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Korosho Queens’ manager, Hussein Kibombwe, said the team is mentally and physically ready for the challenge.

“We know our opponents are strong, with skilled and well-prepared squads. This will be a tough test, but it is a great opportunity for our players to showcase their abilities,” Kibombwe said.

Tanzania Prisons’ head coach for both men’s and women’s teams, Fred Mshangama, also expressed confidence.

“Our teams are fully prepared. Our aim is to win our matches and defend our titles,” he stated.

The TVNL semifinals promise intense battles and high-level volleyball action as teams vie for a place in the league finals.
